Getting better at this trips.

I made a quick stop in to Rite Aid & Walgreens after work today.

2 identical transactions at each store.

Rite Aid was first.

4 Airwick Mini Freshmatic Regular Price $9.99 on sale 50% off so $4.99 each = $19.96
2 Clean & Clear Regular Price $5.49 on sale for 2/$9.00
2 Bandaid Regularly $3.49 on sale for $1.99 so $3.98 for 2
10 Stayfree regular $3.99 on sale for $1.99 each so 10 were $19.90
Total Value of all products @ sale price $52.84
(If they were not on sale their regular value would be $97.82, that's what you'd
pay if you walked into Walmart on any given day and pay, do you really think that's
'low everyday prices'?)

Coupons used:
2 $5/25 Rite Aid Internet printables
2 $2/1 Clean & Clear IPs
2 $.50/1 Bandaid from newspaper insert
2 $.50/1 Rite Aid In Ad Coupons
10 $2/1 Stayfree from newspaper insert

Total paid after sales & all coupons was.....

$.84 cents.

I will buy one more clean & clear and get a $5 rebate from Rite Aid.

Walgreens, 2 identical transactions:

4 Off Clip On Starters regular $9.99 each, on sale for $8.99 so for 4 $35.96
6 chips $2.00 (paid with food stamps)
1 Shick Quattro Trim Style $8.99
1 Shick Quattro Razor System $8.99 because the Trim style was the last one left.
Both razors were on sale.
Total of all products $55.94

Coupons used:

2 Buy One Get One Free Off Clip On Starter Internet Printable -$17.98
2 $4/1 Shick Quattro Razor or Refill from newspaper insert
2 $2/1 Off Clip on Starter Internet Printable
4 $2/1 Off Clip on Starter Instant Value Coupon Booklet from Walgreens 'stacked' with
the $2/1 and bogo coupons'
6 $3/1 Register Rewards from the Stayfree I bought for $2.99 at Walgreens. Buy Stayfree for
$2.99 and use a $2/1 coupon, get a $3 Register Reward back. (bought lots of those on Sunday)

Total of all coupons used: $55.98
Total paid after all coupons and food stamps for the food was $3.96

So I got $153.76 worth of products for $4.80 paid out of pocket.
Received $6 back in Register Rewards on the 2 Shick razors.

Still think those walmart prices are low?

Still think it's a waste of your time to clip coupons?

That's how I do it.

Thanks to We Use Coupons and Wild For Wags for the heads up on great deals!

How I got 12 FREE cans of Schick Hydro Shaving Gel!

Walgreens has a reward program called 'register rewards'. When you buy a specific item you get a 'register reward' back with your receipt. It's kind of like an 'instant' rebate, but you have 2 weeks to use this 'coupon' on your next purchase.
These can be used immediately, or you can hold onto them.
Normally you can't purchase the same item that gave you a 'register reward' better known as an RR and get another RR.
But sometimes you can, and that's what we call 'rolling'.

Today the brand new schick hydro shave gel was on sale for $2.99, you get back a $3.00 RR with each one you purchase. Of course you only get 1 RR whether you buy 1 or 10 in a single transaction, which is why we purchase 1 at a time, that's how you get free stuff, if you don't mind paying small amounts over and over again. It can be quite fun seeing your buggy pile full of FREE stuff, and it's completely legal and legit!

CVS made my wish come true toay!

My 2nd trip to CVS.

As I walked through the door of a CVS I’ve NEVER shopped at the cashier greeted us cheerfully while eyeing the bright purple binder I clutched in my arms. Are you coupon shoppers, she asked with a smile on her face. “I, uh, yeah, we are” I stammered. Are you here to shop the new ad she asked?
Had I not been made familiar with this term on WUC I would have ignorantly asked her what she meant.
“Well, I’m not sure” I replied. “This is my 2nd time shopping at CVS and we are going to try to get some good deals, but I’m working off of the current ad”. That’s ok she stated, our system is down, so if you purchase anything on the new ad please let me know, I’ll have to key it in manually.
I thanked her, walked over to the scanner that obviously was not working either. We didn’t get to scan our cards to see if we had any goodies coming out of it today. Bummer.
As we scanned the aisles and I pointed to the direction of the vitamins on the back wall, then to the shampoo aisle, my notes in hand, we found everything we were looking for, and then some.

The shampoo is for her too.
IDK what I’ll do with most of these vitamins. I am sure I’ll figure something out!

We then went and splurged to see Alice In Wonderland in 3-D and it was amazing! We couldn’t have afforded the price of the movie for 4 of us if we hadn’t been

I'm very tired. I think I need a break from shopping for a few days.

How using coupons helps me lose weight

I'm a big girl. I'm planning to have lap band surgery asap. Right now I'm working on my 6 months pre-surgery planning. I'm on a 1600 calorie a day diet, suppose to exercise (walk) 30 minutes per day.
I started my 6 month journey on March 1, 2010, shortly after I began using coupons in order to build a stockpile of items my family uses or needs.
To do this I have to do a lot of shopping, which means I'm on my feet walking, bending, stooping in the stores a lot.
It's air conditioned. If I get thirsty I can buy a drink. I'm not going to be bitten by a stray mutt, or mugged (hopefully) by an insane person while shopping at Walgreens or Rite Aid.
Since I began my major coupon expeditions and my weight loss journey I found that I was buying a lot of candy, as filler items so my coupons would 'work' out right at the register. Candy, because it's CHEAP, and I want my OOP to be as low as possible.
Well, candy---chocolate---is a down fall for me.
I have eaten way too much of it this month.
But---I have seriously increased my activity levels. I have walked at least 5 miles this week simply by shopping with coupons.
When I went for my 1 month check up on April 1st I was worried that all the candy had gotten to me, that I was going to be sadly embarrassed by a weight increase.
Instead, I had lost 4 pounds! I hadn't changed my eating habits at all. I might be eating less because I am busier setting up 'deals' and clipping coupons, but it also might be because I am walking a lot while shopping.
I'm hoping for more great results next month.
5 months until we send the request to my insurance company for me to have lap band surgery.
Maybe this time next year I'll be shopping for new clothes.

Thanks for reading my blog.
Don't forget to check out We Use Coupons and tell them julie.r0cks sent you!

The pocket binders, index cards, legal pads & Dividers will all be used to make my coupon binder, so those ‘fillers’ were not a waste.
The My Little Pony’s, T-shirt, Frisbee & ball are all for my 2 younger children’s easter baskets.
I don’t need nor do I use the Dulcolax, but it MADE me money. By using a $4 or $3 coupon and getting back a $10 RR on a $10 purchase
I made $3-$4 each time I purchased this item. It was free, the coupon is what made me money.

Unfortunately Walgreens was out of the Scrubbing Bubbles Starter kits & Dulcolax by the time I had finished, I have more coupons for them and hope to do some more before the week is over.
BTW, I tried out the new Maybelline make-up and it's fabulous! OMG, a must have from now on!
I've never been able to buy new products, or afford all this name brand stuff before. I've scrimped and barely got by all of my life, but this stockpiling thing is absolutely the way to go.

I hope this is helping someone.
My stockpile is growing. Tonight my girls came in and picked out a deodorant and 1 of them picked out a toothbrush.
We have been doing Rite Aid & Walgreens for about 2 months now, so there are deals I have done in the past 2 months
That I have not posted here.
I have sent for Single Check Rebates for March from Rite Aid which I should receive by mid April in the amount of $87.00.
I think we have enough deodorant to last a household of 7 for a while huh?

Don't forget to check out We Use Coupons and tell them julie.r0cks sent you!
