A lot of people keep asking me to explain what I'm doing and how I'm getting stuff so cheap, cause I sorta keep bragging.
I use coupons! Rebates! Register Rewards.
Sounds too good to be true right? I know.
It is information overload, which is why I suggest if you are thinking about getting into this to check out http://www.weusecoupons.com/ before you do anything else, but first---read the rest of this blog post so you can see for yourself that it DOES WORK.
Q-Coupon
RR-Register Reward (Q that prints out at Walgreens when you buy a specific product, this is advertised in their weekly sales ad)
OOP- What I paid out of pocket, the total amount I paid in cash.
You will notice some odd 'cheap' items in each transaction, bubbles, stickers, candy---these are all 'fillers'.
Fillers are items that you need to use in order to make your RR's work. Lets say I have a $2 Q for Dove shampoo and I have a $2RR. Dove is $4. In order to use the $2Q and $2RR I need a 'filler' because when using RR to pay you can't have more coupons than items. If I have 1 item I can't pay with a regular coupon and a RR unless I have another item that I am NOT using a coupon on, so I find something cheap in the store, a 'filler' that will allow me touse my RR and get my Dove shampoo for $4 for free with the $2Q and the $2RR and the filler item of say .12 cents. I pay .12 cents + tax after Q and RR are taken off the total. See the transaction I did tonight below. Hopefully it will make more sense for you.
Also---everything I bought was ON SALE, and I used Coupons and bought things that I knew would give me RR's back on them so I could continue shopping and getting more and more stuff for very very cheap, or FREE.
Where do I get coupons?
Sign up for freebies, free coupons, samples, and print coupons right off the internet. Also buy SEVERAL sunday papers and clip them ALL. You never know what a coupon will do for you, or how much money you can MAKE just for buying a product, so save them ALL!!!
